Ecuador registers 183.246 cases of COVID-19 and 13.073 deaths

The Minister of Health reported that the country has 66% hospital occupancy. 31% employed in the hospitalization area and 64% in the ICU

Ecuador reports 996 new infections and 21 more deaths in the last 24 hours. This November 19, 2020, the country registers 183.246 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 13.073 deaths due to the pandemic.

According to the Ministry of Health, 8.729 people died with a positive diagnosis and 4.344 died with suspicion of carrying the respiratory virus.

This Thursday, the Minister of Health, Juan Carlos Zevallos, reported that the country has a 66% hospital occupancy: 31% occupied in the hospitalization area and 64% in the Intensive Care Units (ICU).

According to the report, there are 466 stable hospitalized patients and 372 with a reserved prognosis. In total, there are 838 interned in one day. While 36 more people were discharged from hospital.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the country has 160.639 recovered patients, which represents 89.10% of the total infected. Every week this report is updated with an average of 6.000 people recovering from the disease.

Pichincha reports 425 new infections and six more deaths in the last 24 hours. In total, the province that became the epicenter of the pandemic in the country, has a total of 65.698 infected and 2.119 deaths. Quito has 391 diagnosed and the number of cases in the Ecuadorian capital rises to 60.470.
