Ecuador registers 172.508 cases of COVID-19 and 12.761 deaths

The government report shows that 149.048 patients have recovered and represents 88.09% of the total infected.

Ecuador registers 725 new infections and 31 more deaths in the last 24 hours. This Friday, November 6, 2020, the country has 172.508 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 12.761 deaths due to the pandemic.

According to the report of the Ministry of Health, 8.449 people died with a positive prognosis. To this figure are added the 4.312 deaths that were probably caused by the virus.

In the last two weeks there was an increase in hospital occupancy, after a slight decrease. This Friday, nationwide there are 505 stable hospitalized and 333 with a reserved prognosis. In total, there are 838 interned in one day. While 217 more people were discharged from hospital.

In Quito, the Temporary Care Center for patients with COVID-19 doubled the number of hospitalized in the last week. In Guayaquil there is also a hospital occupancy of more than 90%, according to local authorities.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the country has registered 149,048 recovered patients, which represents 88.09% of the total infected.

Pichincha has 314 new infections and 13 more deaths in the last 24 hours. The province, the epicenter of the pandemic in the country, registers 60.494 cases of COVID-19 and 2.049 deaths. Quito registers 295 new cases and the total number of infected in the capital rises to 55.674.
