The number of deaths during the protests in Ecuador would increase to 11.
On Tuesday night, the Confederation of Indigenous Nationalities of Ecuador (Conaie) confirmed the death of another person as a result of the repression during mobilizations and protests that took place in October.
As they explained, Edgar Yucailla, injured on October 12 at El Arbolito Park in Quito, would have died due to a severe brain injury from a firearm, but an autopsy is expected to confirm the causes.
So far, there are 11 deaths in the country as a result of protests from October 3 to 13, according to figures provided by the Ombudsman’s Office.
