The former Bolivian president commented that he has also had conversations with Alberto Fernández, president of Argentina, to recover the Union of South American Nations (UNASUR)
The former president of Bolivia, Evo Morales, commented that he visited the Venezuelan president, Nicolás Maduro, last weekend, where they discussed the situation in the region and new projects for Latin America.
Maduro commented that Morales gave him his book: “Evo Morales, We Will Return and We Will Be Millions,” which was shown by the Venezuelan president in an event broadcast on state television.
The former Bolivian president arrived in Caracas from Argentina, where he is a refugee after having to resign from the presidency on November 10, 2019, due to pressure from the military and also due to social protests in the country.
Morales commented that he has also held talks with the president of Argentina, Alberto Fernández, to try to recover the Union of South American Nations (UNASUR). Evo also hopes that the region “will soon return to the times of Néstor Kirchner, Hugo Chávez, Lula da Silva and Rafael Correa.”
The former head of state reported that his country “is preparing a formal complaint before the Organization of American States (OAS) to promote the removal of the secretary general, Luis Almagro.” On the other hand, Morales also believes that the new constitution in Chile will help the South American country to “recover and nationalize its natural resources.”
On the other hand, Evo Morales confirmed that he will not hold any position in the new government of Luis Arce and hopes to return to Bolivia on November 11.
