Authorities will design a comprehensive plan to provide safety to cyclists

The cycling community calls for attention to the assaults that some colleagues have suffered.

Given the increase in crime and in order to guarantee safety and control for cyclists, the authorities promised to present a comprehensive plan next Thursday.

This agreement came after the morning of this Thursday, October 29, the cycling community presented a formal request to the Minister of Government, María Paula Romo, and to the commander of the National Police, Patricio Carrillo.

The cyclists were grouped before the emergency they have in the face of insecurity.

One of their representatives said that it is necessary for people to report and asked the Prosecutor’s Office to act because there is no data.

The leader considered that it is essential to carry out reforms to the Comprehensive Organic Penal Code (COIP) given the obstacles that may exist.

He also requested that safe corridors for cyclists be identified, as well as that the bike path corridor and the Metropolitan Park have police officers.
