Ecuador registers 142.056 cases of COVID-19 and 11.702 deaths

Ecuador registers 717 new infections and 21 more deaths in the last 24 hours. This Tuesday, October 6, 2020, the country has 142.056 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 11.702 deaths due to this pandemic.

According to the Ministry of Health, there are 142.056 positive cases diagnosed with a PCR test, out of a total of 455.122 samples applied in Ecuadorian territory. In addition, 7.825 people died with a positive diagnosis. To this number are added 3.856 deaths suspected of carrying the virus.

Regarding hospitalized patients: 610 are stable and 354 with a reserved prognosis. In total, there are 964 hospitalized in one day. While 43 more people were discharged from hospital and there are 19.318 patients who left the hospitalization areas.

The total number of recovered patients amounts to 120.511, which according to the government report, represents 85.45% of the total infected.

Pichincha has 427 new infections in the last 24 hours. In addition, of the 21 deaths registered at the national level, 11 occurred in Pichincha. The province most affected by the pandemic in the country has a total of 45,651 cases of COVID-19 and 1.864 deaths. Quito adds 385 more infected and amounts to 39.102 cases in the Ecuadorian capital
