Of the 34 new deaths nationwide, 31 occurred in Pichincha, which reports 1.853 deaths
Ecuador registers 305 new infections and 34 more deaths in the last 24 hours. In total, this October 5, 2020, the country has 141.339 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 11.681 deaths due to this pandemic.
According to the Ministry of Health, 141.339 infected were confirmed with a PCR test, out of a total of 455.122 samples taken nationwide. In addition, 7.825 died with a positive diagnosis and 3.856 died suspected of carrying the virus.
With regard to the number of hospitalized, 623 are stable and 356 with a reserved prognosis. In one day, 979 hospitalized are registered, while 49 more people were discharged from hospital. There are 19.275 total infected people who left the hospitalization areas and are recovering at their homes.
Since the pandemic began, the country has 120.511 recovered patients as of October 5. In the week from September 28 to Sunday October 4, 8.215 more people were added who overcame the disease.
Pichincha registers 206 new infections in the last 24 hours. In addition, of the 34 deaths nationwide, 31 occurred in Pichincha. The province has a total of 42.224 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus and 1.853 deaths. Quito adds 191 infected and amounts to 38.717 infected in the Ecuadorian capital.
