The protesters were in front of the Palacio de la Moneda with posters alluding to the violence of the police forces.

A group of social organizations in Chile, in particular a dozen mothers, demonstrated this Monday in Santiago to demand the resignation of the chief of the carabineros of that country, Mario Rozas, after an element of that institution threw a young man into the river Mapocho during the demonstrations on Friday.

As various organizations announced on social media, from 1:30 p.m. (local time) a group of women went to the Palacio de la Moneda with posters alluding to the violence of the police forces against civilians.

With the slogan “There they are, they are the ones who kill without reason”, several people demanded “Justice to the Government of Sebastián Piñera, after the recent violent events in recent weeks, but in particular that of a young man thrown off a bridge.

The event, in which the 16-year-old teenager was seriously injured in the middle of a demonstration in this capital, renewed criticism of the violence with which the police institution acts against the participants in the protests, more accentuated because of the contradictory statements of carabineros and videos circulated on social networks

Likewise, citizens hold the high command of the Carabineros body responsible for the repeated acts of aggression against the protesters, as a violation of their human rights. In addition, the opposition announced the reactivation of the constitutional accusation against Interior Minister Víctor Pérez, in charge of the country’s security and order forces.
