The Paris City Council will announce this Monday the measures to face the spread of the coronavirus in the capital region.
Starting this Monday, Paris will go into high alert due to the increase in coronavirus cases and the emergency in the health centers of the capital region.
The French Prime Minister, Jean Castex, confirmed this Sunday to the mayor, Anne Hidalgo, that the capital will start on high alert on Monday.
In France, cities go to alert status when the incidence rate exceeds 250 positives per 100.000 inhabitants, when there are 100 cases among the elderly, or when 30% of the beds in ICUs are occupied by coronavirus patients
The Paris region exceeded these limits last Thursday. There, 263 confirmed cases were registered in the general population, 105 confirmed cases in older adults and an occupancy rate of 35% in intensive care units.
After registering a record of almost 17.000 new infections this Saturday, France notified this Sunday 12.565 new cases of coronavirus and 32 additional deaths, with which the number of deaths from the disease now rises to 32.230 people.
