Colombians mobilized to reject police brutality

The motto of the event was “March for Life”, it took place in ten cities in Colombia and in nations such as the US, Canada and France.

Social organizations in Colombia and abroad, continued for the fifth consecutive day the mobilizations in rejection of the police repression, as well as the change in the doctrine of the authorities and respect for life.

The protests, which caused the death of ten people and another 75 were injured by firearms in the country, took place in the country after the death at the hands of the police of the young lawyer Javier Ordóñez.

In Cartagena, Mayor William Dau, in the company of the Secretary of the Interior, David Múnera, and other District officials were present at the march called in rejection of the police abuses that have been taking place in the country.

The high councilor for Victims, La Paz and La Reconciliation, Vladimir Rodríguez, called for a structural reform of the police and to recover citizenship and the Constitution as a banner of human rights for Bogota citizens.

The mobilizations were also reported in other cities around the world such as Toronto, Vancouver, Lyon, Zurich, Barcelona, ​​London, Paris, where citizens joined the march for life.
