It would be a 21-year-old who was shot in the middle of the marches against police violence.
The protests against police violence in Bogotá have claimed another victim the week before, after a family reported on Monday the death of Cristian Rodríguez, a 21-year-old young man who had just finished his military service and divided his time between finishing his studies and work in a motorcycle delivery.
The family members in the public complaint state that the person allegedly responsible for the shot that killed Cristian, in the streets of Engativá Pueblo, would be a man dressed in black who appears in some videos recorded by neighbors. All of this happened in the midst of the riots taking place in the Colombian capital.
According to the relatives, Cristian, at this time, is not part of the official count of the victims of the police repression, although he would be another of the victims on the night of September 10. After being shot at the demonstration, Cristian was taken to a hospital where he died the following morning.
Cristián’s would be the ninth death during the riots, although the count of the complaints raises to 12 those who died during the protests on September 9 and 10 which led to the celebration this Sunday of an act of “forgiveness and reconciliation” with various authorities for eight of the deceased. The absence of the president, Iván Duque, has been widely criticized by the opposition.
The protests staged in the Colombian capital, Bogotá, broke out after the death during a police intervention of a civilian in the Bogota neighborhood of Engativá, through the use of taser pistols against Javier Ordóñez, a 42-year-old lawyer, who, in the middle of his agony, asked for help and demanded no more electric shocks be applied to him.
