Legislative block AP-Aliados rejected the total veto of the Executive to the Health Code
“This decision leaves Ecuadorians who had the hope of responsible medical care helpless,” said the Alianza PAÍS bench.
The legislative bloc of Alianza PAIS rejected the Executive’s total veto of the Organic Health Code (COS). The ruling party considers that it is “an affront against the entire Ecuadorian people, who need and require solutions in a fundamental area such as health.”
This Friday, the legal secretary of the Presidency, Johanna Pesántez, announced that President Lenín Moreno vetoed in its entirety the Health Code, approved by the National Assembly, after eight years of debate.
“As legislators of the Bloque AP – Aliados, we reject this decision that leaves Ecuadorians helpless who were hoping for responsible medical care. with tools that allow improving the efficiency of care, with awareness of the reality in which thousands of Ecuadorians live who currently cannot be treated or have problems in their treatments due to legal watts that this regulation ”, says the statement issued by the block Legislative of the movement of the Ecuadorian President himself.
Social groups, women, as well as other assembly members from different banks expressed their rejection of the President’s decision, in the midst of a health emergency.
Among the issues that were approved in the regulations include attention to gynecological-obstetric emergencies, prohibition of a dehomosexualization center, sexual education, and medicinal use of cannabis.
