Ecuador reports 131,146 cases of COVID-19 and 11,213 deaths

Ecuador registers 1.254 new infections and 42 more deaths in the last 24 hours. This September 24, 2020, the country has 131.146 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 11.213 deaths due to this pandemic.

According to the Ministry of Health, there are 131.146 infections confirmed with a PCR test, 7.414 people who died from the virus and 3.799 deaths that are suspected to have been the new coronavirus.

At the national level, there are 689 stable hospitalized patients and 361 with a reserved prognosis. In one day, 1.050 hospitalized patients are registered. While 43 people were discharged from hospital.

From the beginning of the pandemic until September 20, 102.852 patients recovered and represent 81.36% of the total infected. The country has an average of 5.000 people who overcome the disease weekly.

Pichincha has 773 new infections and adds a total of 36.288 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the most affected province in the country. Of the 42 most recorded deaths in the last 24 hours, 31 occurred in Pichincha. Quito adds 726 new infected and amounts to 33.269 cases in the Ecuadorian capital.
