More than 3.000 people with disabilities were separated from their jobs

The Ministry of Labor clarifies that if a person is fired, he must receive the compensation that by law corresponds to him.

Since March, 3.600 people with disabilities have been dismissed from their jobs and another 1.400 hired.

Nathaly Pernett, Undersecretary for Policies and Standards of the Ministry of Labor, stated that any person with a disability who is dismissed from their duties should receive the compensation that is due to them by law.

The official pointed out that, due to the pandemic, there are companies that are not able to cancel compensation in a single payment, but warned that there are alternatives.

The Ministry of Labor even offers a service for conflict resolution in the event that labor rights are not met.

María Soledad Encalada uses a wheelchair because of a work accident. Due to the pandemic, she had to stay home for the three months of confinement, but when she planned to return to work, she was dismissed and now she only hopes that her labor rights are fulfilled.
