Authorities announced that those responsible will be sentenced and that they will work towards a structural reform.
Many social and political leaders in Colombia have rejected the murder of the 46-year-old lawyer Javier Ordóñez, after suffering electric shocks by the Police in the Villa Luz neighborhood, in the northwestern part of Bogotá.
The mayor of the Colombian capital, Claudia López, rejected the police abuse, stating that she will preside over the Human Rights and District Coexistence table so that together a serious reform is achieved within the Police, which cannot remain in excuses of apples isolated or research announcements.
In this sense, López offered the family of the victim legal assistance so that there is an exemplary sentence for those involved.

Sánchez also pointed out that the Colonel of the Capital Police said that the man had “a health complication.”
The deputy general editor of W Radio Colombia Johana Fuentes expressed on her Twitter account that the lawyer was subjected to several shocks with an electric gun, he was defenseless and begged them to stop, however, they continued the attack. “The Police killing instead of protecting,” she said.
The Attorney General of the nation, Francisco Barbosa Delgado, ordered the prioritization of the case giving immediate attention, which allows clarifying the events that led to the death of the lawyer.
According to a statement from the Prosecutor’s Office, a group of investigators from the Technical Investigations Corps (CTI), coordinated by a prosecutor from the Bogotá sectional life unit, are carrying out urgent actions in relation to the death of Ordoñez at the hands of police.
