LigaPro does not rule out the return of fans to stadiums in the coming weeks

A return could be implemented with 10% of the stadium’s capacity.

Miguel Ángel Loor, president of LigaPro, does not rule out the possibility that soccer fans will return to the stadiums. The opportunity for this return would be with a minimum of 10% capacity, it all depends on how the situation in the country is going.

Loor said that the idea of a return of the fans to the courts is not out of his plans. “It all depends on the situation in the country and how the virus behaves,” he said.

This return to the courts would be intended as a pilot project. The Ecuadorian soccer championship returned last Friday, August 14, with the culmination of the fifth date, after being suspended for more than 5 months due to the global Covid19 pandemic.

Loor also commented that it is likely that the championship ended its activities on December 23, this due to the changes of dates in tournaments such as the Copa Libertadores, Copa Sudamericana and the Qualifiers.

The sixth date of the championship will be held between Tuesday August 18 and Wednesday 19. Independiente del Valle and Macará open the date at 12:30 at the Olímpico Atahualpa.
