In these three days of the week the curfew is also extended and it will be from 19:00 to 05:00

Citizens will not be able to buy liquor from Friday to Sunday, for 15 days. This was resolved by the national Emergency Operations Committee (COE) on July 29, 2020. The measure applies to 18 provinces of the country.

In recent weeks, the number of those infected in various provinces has increased significantly, but also the number of those punished for drinking on public roads, organizing parties and other indisciplines.

Several mayors have asked that a Dry Law be applied and the curfew be extended for 15 days, so that the health system “has a breather”, because it is working to the limit of its capacity.

The national authorities decided, for August, the liquor sale, from Friday to Sunday, will be suspended. In addition, the curfew, these days, is extended and will be from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., while from Monday to Thursday it remains from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

The measure will govern in Carchi, Imbabura, Pichincha, Cotopaxi, Tungurahua, Chimborazo, Bolívar, Cañar, Azuay, Loja, Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas, Esmeraldas, Sucumbíos, Napo, Orellana, Pastaza, Morona Santiago and Zamora Chinchipe.

This measure has some exceptions. Liquor sales are permitted in category four and tourist restaurants, but as an accompanying drink. The authorities also remember that social gatherings of all kinds, the use of a mask and social distancing are prohibited.
