Ecuador reports 891 new infections and 26 more deaths in the last 24 hours. In total, there are 78,148 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 8,851 deaths. This July 23, with 11,900 cases, Quito overtook Guayaquil, the city hardest hit at the start of the pandemic.
According to the report of the Ministry of Health, in Ecuador there are 78,148 infected, 106,022 cases discarded, 5,439 deaths with a positive prognosis, 3,412 deaths suspected of carrying the disease.
Regarding the epidemiological situation of those infected, 38,125 are in home isolation, 790 are hospitalized, and 339 with a reserved prognosis. In total, there are 1,129 hospitalized patients, being another peak of hospitalized in the country.
According to the government report, it is 25 days without a recovered patient being registered and it has remained at 5,900 since June 29.
