(Prensa Latina) Hundreds of Bolivians on Tuesday marched against policies implemented by the de facto government that threaten health, education and job stability during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Juan Carlos Huarachi, executive secretary of the Central Obrera Boliviana (COB), called for the cessation of unjustified dismissals at a press conference and denounced the lack of medical care and biosafety supplies.

Huarachi rejected government proposals to fight the new coronavirus, such as distance education, an initiative that really requires some investments including the installation of fiber optics that low-income families will not be able to afford to pay.

‘We cannot afford that! We have an economic problem today, and such an economic problem within the production chain has already hit many sectors nationwide, from workers to informal workers. Income has been reducing in various sectors,’ he emphasized.
