President Lenin Moreno sends the list of candidates to the vice presidency of Ecuador

The Assembly has 15 days, starting this Friday, to choose Otto Sonnenholzner’s replacement.

The President of the Republic, Lenín Moreno, sent to the National Assembly the shortlist with the names of the candidates to replace Otto Sonnenholzner in the Vice Presidency of the Republic.

The Minister of Government, María Paula Romo, Juan Sebastián Roldán, Cabinet Secretary of the Presidency of the Republic, and María Alejandra Muñoz, director of the National Customs Service (Senae) are on the list.

Now the National has 15 days to designate the fourth vice president so far in the government of President Lenin Moreno.

In accordance with articles 120, number 3 and 150, third paragraph, of the Constitution, in accordance with the provisions of article 43 of the Organic Law of the Legislative Function, the assembly members will appoint a new vice president with 70 votes.

César Litardo, president of the National Assembly, announced that he has received the shortlist and that the Legislature will pronounce democratically.
