Brazil has the world’s most demoralized government, Lula says

(Prensa Latina) Former President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said that Brazil has the world’s most demoralized government and, if it maintains its conduct regarding Covid-19, it will cry the deaths of thousands of people who might be saved.

‘Brazil has today the most demoralized government on planet Earth. Who will want to invest here? We need to have a very serious conversation about the leaderships of this country,’ the founder of the Workers’ Party said during an interview with the governor of the northeastern state of Maranhão, Flavio Dino.

He noted that when the Covid-19 pandemic broke out, the Jair Bolsonaro Government should have gathered the governors and experts to establish a strategy against the disease that has so far killed more than 58,000 people in Brazil.

‘The Government’s role is not to give speeches or fake news; it is to organize society, like a teacher. Bolsonaro does not have to like Doria

(Joao, governor of Sao Paulo), Camilo (Santana, governor of Ceara), he has to rule Brazil and respect how he wants to be respected,’ Lula pointed out.

He noted that ‘if there is a lesson that we have learned from coronavirus is that we have human governors. What they did is much more than what the federal Government has done. Bolsonaro shows signs of desperation for this country. I don’t know how we will get to 2022. I expect that it will not be necessary, Lula pointed out.

He confessed that he prayed for the pandemic to end soon and strategies to be established, to recover credibility and, in consequence, the investments for the country.

Lula also criticized the election of names to hold posts in the ministries of Education and Health, as well as the minister of Economy, Paulo Guedes, who has the model of former Chilean Dictator Augusto Pinochet ‘engraved in his head’.

Guedes is ‘a citizen with only one thought (?) He thinks that the State is worthless,’ he noted.
