(Prensa Latina) Cuba exhibits a favorable situation today against Covid-19, registering five persons positive for SARS-Cov2 until midnight Wednesday, with a sum of two thousand 353 diagnosed with the disease, authorities reported today.
The national director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health, Francisco Durán updated the records on the pandemic in the island and the world, where he also specified that no deaths were recorded yesterday, a figure that remains at 86.
After performing two thousand 309 real-time PCR tests, five cases were confirmed, while 175 thousand 372 studies were accumulated.
Durán explained that the new cases belong to Havana (two women and three men). One was asymptomatic at the time of diagnosis, while six are under surveillance, 69 suspects, 44 active and 144 are followed from their homes by the primary care system while 119 are kept in hospital.
After the addition of three new medical discharges, the number of patients recovered from Covid-19 in Cuba increased to 2,221, the Ministry of Public Health said today.
The total number of recoveries represents 94.4 percent of the two thousand 353 confirmed with the disease in Cuba, said doctor Duran.
