Ecuador registers 700 new cases of COVID-19 and 114 deaths in one day

Quito reports 122 cases in the last hours

In the last 24 hours, the country registers 700 new infections and 114 deaths. In total, on June 26, 2020, the Government reports 53,856 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 7,422 deaths due to this pandemic.

The government report reports that 1,037 new tests were taken in the last 24 hours, between PCR and rapid tests, being the second consecutive day that more than 1,000 tests are taken daily to detect the virus, after several weeks.

Until this Friday, the country reaches 53,856 confirmed cases of COVID-19: 22, of which 103 are in home isolation, 556 are hospitalized stable, and 298 have a reserved prognosis. In addition, the number of recovered patients increased to 5,500, 6,832 people were discharged from hospital and 14,161 were discharged from epidemiology.

Pichincha reports 124 new infections in the last 24 hours, which shows a slight reduction in cases, after the province exceeded 160 cases a day in recent days, being the highest peak. In total, Pichincha reports 6,744 infected and 482 deceased.

Quito is the most affected canton with more daily reported cases. Today, he had 122 new infections and, in total, 6,171 confirmed cases.

The Ministry of Health reports this Friday 4,406 deaths with positive diagnoses of COVID-19 and 3,016 deaths with suspicion of carrying the disease.
