President of the College of Physicians of Guayas reports that there are more than 700 infected professionals

Wilson Tenorio, president of the College of Physicians of Guayas, reported that more than 70 doctors have died of coronavirus. In addition, he added that there are more than 700 infected health professionals.

In this context, he stated that in the coming days, all the unions, including the College of Nurses, Auxiliaries, Obstetricians, etc., will give a pronouncement on the subject.

“In the coming days we will see how the control of the epidemic develops, we will be giving a statement of what is happening in Guayas, we will see how the figures are going.”

He expressed his concern about possible underreporting:

“What we do not know, what is hidden, the numbers that may be chilling,” he added.

However, he stated that in that province the virus would have reached its peak, so it is expected that I reached the plateau so that it begins to descend, although he urged the public not to trust themselves because there are also cases of recontagios.

“People over the age of 60, or with pre-existing diseases that involve a decrease in defenses, are the most vulnerable to get it. The call that we make please << do not go out and stay at home >> ”.

In Tenorio’s opinion, there is a high probability that the measures will continue until July: “So that after that we can meet again.”
