There are many people who do not know where are the bodies of their relatives in Guayaquil

It is the testimony of the communicator Omar Jaén, who had a similar story.

Omar Jaén, journalist and teacher from Guayaquil, told the way of the cross that he passed to be able to bury his uncle, who died with the new virus.

According to the testimony of Jaén, his relative, before dying, was taken to the Los Ceibos hospital of the IESS, with all the symptoms of the coronavirus, but they did not admit him until after seven hours of staying outside the health house.

The communicator pointed out that his uncle was not even tested. He died on Monday, March 30 at the social security hospital, so the paperwork to remove the body and bury it began.

“When we went to remove the body, the hospital told us that, due to a provision of the National COE, it was no longer possible to do so, because the central state would be in charge of burying it,” said Omar.

He narrated that, after investigating on their own, the relatives found out that the body was still in the morgue, in containers, at the IESS health house.

The journalist assures that his uncle was recently buried on April 10, and he learned of it from the information provided by Jorge Wated, who commands the deceased collection brigade.

Jaén questions this procedure because his uncle’s relatives did not know, for a long time, where he was to be buried, despite the fact that they had everything prepared, including paying the cost of cremation.

He affirms that, like this, there are many cases in the Main Port and people do not know the whereabouts of their deceased relatives with the pandemic.
