He indicated that it is now in the testing phase to start operating
Energy Minister René Ortíz reported that the Shushufindi – Quito pipeline is ready. The 1.7 kilometer section variant is currently being tested to ensure that the tube welds are working without leaks.
On April 8, an erosion in the Coca River caused the rupture of the OCP pipeline on the border between the provinces of Napo and Sucumbíos, which interrupted the pumping of the pipeline that connects Shushufindi with Quito.
This caused the suspension of production for compliance with foreign contracts. However, Ortiz said that due to a clause there is justification to postpone the delivery of crude oil: “And it accumulates in the future as prices improve.”
The Ecuadorian State complied with the delivery of crude oil for five days, after what happened in the Coca River, with what it had stored in Balao.
