The price of a barrel of WTI crude oil closed at $ 26.08.
After the postponement of a meeting between the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and its allies, international prices for a barrel of crude oil fell again.
In New York, WTI crude for May delivery fell 8% to close at $ 26.08.
Meanwhile, in London, the North Sea barrel of Brent for June delivery lost 3.2%, ending at $ 33.05.
The prices of the two reference barrels rose sharply Thursday and Friday thanks to signs of détente between Saudi Arabia and Russia in their price war due to a lack of agreement to cut production.
In the week, Brent accumulated a rise of 37% and WTI of 32%.
Michael Hewson, of the consultancy CMC Markets, commented that this Monday, prices turned red again due to the postponement of the next OPEC meeting that is intended to limit the supply of crude.
It was revealed that this videoconference meeting should allow producers to discuss a massive reduction in production to sustain oil prices in a market whose demand is reduced by the coronavirus pandemic.
