Ecuador reports 6 cases of monkeypox

Ecuador reports 6 cases of monkeypox, according to the Ministry of Public Health (MSP).

The infected people are stable. Of these, two were discharged; the remaining four are kept under surveillance and isolation.

The ministry also ruled out the death of a monkeypox patient in Ecuador.

In a statement, he recalls that the National Institute of Public Health Research (INSPI) has carried out the necessary tests to diagnose people who present symptoms, such as vesicles (similar to pimples) and fever.

Health urges the population to maintain biosecurity measures, such as hand hygiene with soap and water or alcohol gel. In the presence of symptoms, it is recommended to wear a mask and go to the nearest doctor or health center.
