Juan Luis Guerra cancels concert in Ecuador due to violence

The singer Juan Luis Guerra will not perform in Quito or Guayaquil due to the violence in the country. The event was scheduled for November this year.

The concert was canceled due to the bombs in the neighborhoods, the high rate of violent deaths, crime and robberies that have increased throughout the country.

The company FTC LIVE, producer of the event announced for November 24 in Guayaquil and November 26 in Quito, was forced to notify the public and ticket buyers that the event will not take place on the scheduled dates.

They point out that the events of recent days in the country “have indirectly affected social instability, which is reflected in the sale of said events.”

For this reason, the Producer and the Artist’s Management, together, made the difficult decision to cancel the concerts.

The production company reported that it will make an immediate return of 100% of the value of the tickets to the public that has already bought the tickets.

It is the second concert that is canceled due to violence in the country. Last Monday, August 15, the event organizer company, Alive Productions, announced the postponement of Marc Anthony’s concerts scheduled for Guayaquil and Quito.

The decision was made due to the state of emergency decreed by the Government and the changes in public order in recent hours, the company reported in a statement.

Marc Anthony was scheduled to appear in Guayaquil, this Thursday, August 18 at the Modelo Stadium, and in Quito this Saturday, August 20, at the Atahualpa Stadium.
