More than 100 people killed in Pakistan flooding

At least 105 people were killed in flash floods unleashed by heavy rains that hit the Pakistani province of Baluchistan this Thursday, while hundreds are evacuated by rescue teams, boats and helicopters.

According to state media, Pakistan’s southwestern region is ravaged by floods, The Express Tribune stated.

The army set up medical camps to provide healthcare assistance to the local population affected by the floods, including 61 injured.

More than 5,000 head of cattle died and an equal number of houses were completely destroyed, while more than 7,000 homes suffered partial losses, The Frontier Post reported.

Of 220 disconnected roads, some 185 were restored, while 34 others were in progress.

The Pakistan Army and Frontier Corps troops are assisting the civil administration in rescue works in Sindh, Balochistan and Punjab provinces as monsoon rains continue to wreak havoc across the country, Dawn reported.
