Four civilians killed by explosion of two mines in Syria

The explosion of a terrorist remnant mine caused the death of three people in the locality of al-Hwez in the north of the central province of Hama, about 200 kilometers north of this capital, media reported.

SANA news agency reported that a device exploded in the path of a vehicle in which three citizens were traveling, causing their immediate death.

The explosion of a device in the village of Bayoud in the note of Salamieh municipality caused the death of a civilian, according to the same media.

According to recent data from the UN anti-mine department in Syria, between 2015 and 2022, about 15 thousand people were killed or injured by mines in Syria, that is five per day.

In turn, the government revealed last June that the Syrian armed forces defused more than 50 thousand explosive charges, 84 thousand unexploded shells and 45 thousand mines of various types, and demined more than 55 thousand hectares of the country.
