Argentina’s Minister of Economy, Silvina Batakis, announced today measures to achieve fiscal balance, seek the solvency of the State and strengthen its role as a promoter of productive activity and generator of jobs.
We need to bring order and balance to public finances. Once the extraordinary crisis situations are over, we have to return to the path of balance and the actions we are announcing today have to do with that, she explained.
In this regard, she indicated that the first measure approved is the granting of monthly budget installments to the public administration in accordance with actual cash flow projections.
Secondly, she assured that the goals agreed with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to cancel the debt contracted by former President Mauricio Macri (2015-2019) will be maintained.
As a third measure, the Fernandez administration will amend the Financial Administration Law as all public sector agencies must be contemplated in the efficient management of the budget and expenditures.
This will give the State throughout the year some 600 billion pesos. “We will make a system of single accounts as happens in most of the provinces of the country, which allows planning the efficient use of resources,” Batakis indicated.
