The Sovereignty, Integration and Comprehensive Security Commission of the National Assembly of Ecuador approved the report for the second debate of the bill that regulates the legitimate and exceptional use of public force.
This report was approved last Saturday, May 21, 2022. Now, it is expected that this initiative will clarify the constitutional power of the use of force that the State exercises through the servers of the National Police, Armed Forces and the Corps. Security and Penitentiary Surveillance.
Assemblyman Ramiro Narváez, president of the Sovereignty, Integration and Comprehensive Security Commission, explained that one of the main objectives of the Bill on the Legitimate Use of Force is to give the National Police the legal tools to act against criminality in the country.
The project also wants to establish prevention and protection in relation to the legitimate use of force in situations in which children, adolescents and other priority attention groups are or may be involved.
