The president of Ecuador, Guillermo Lasso announced on Tuesday the sale of the presidential plane to Colombia. However, the information was denied by the president of Colombia, Iván Duque.
Lasso said that it is a State-to-State transaction and that he sold the plane for USD 8 million. But the Colombian government assured that it is not planning to buy the Ecuadorian presidential plane.
The Colombian president, Iván Duque, said that “Colombia has talked with Ecuador about a plane but no negotiations have been finalized. Nothing has been paid and no plane is going to be bought during my government.
Likewise, the commander of the Air Force, Ramsés Rueda Rueda, explained that the aircraft has not yet been purchased and pointed out that they have “a technical commission in Ecuador that is reviewing the Legacy aircraft that provides service to the presidency of Ecuador. The business has not been closed », he stressed.
For his part, Lasso specified and ratified “that the sale process of the Legacy EMB 135-BJ aircraft is in charge of the Technical Secretariat of Real Estate Management.
