Meeting of Ibero-American Ministers of Agriculture winds up

The 11th Ibero-American Conference of Ministers of Agriculture winds up in Dominican Republic on Thursday, with a discussion on family farming and the contribution by young people and women to the sector.

On Wednesday, representatives of the 22 participating countries discussed the construction of inclusive and sustainable food systems in Ibero-America; resilience and agroecology; challenges of international trade in the face of the crisis in supply chains and the digital transformation of the agricultural food system.

This Thursday, the declaration of the ministers is expected to be presented and adopted, and the country’s Agriculture Minister Limber Cruz will conclude the Conference.

The meeting is part of the calendar of activities Dominican Republic is developing in the framework of the Pro Tempore Secretariat of this international organization and whose results will be taken to the 28th Ibero-American Summit of Heads of State and Government, to be held in this country under the motto “Together for a fair and sustainable Ibero-America.”
