Argentina to host XII International Sculpture Biennial

The XII International Sculpture Biennial will take place from July 16 to 23 at the February 2 Park in the Argentine city of Resistencia, in the northern province of Chaco, organizers confirmed today.

According to the event’s official website, the event will pay tribute to renowned creator Fabriciano Gomez (1944-2021) and will feature the participation of representatives from a dozen countries, including Germany, Mexico, Slovenia, Georgia, Romania and Turkey.

The sculptors in competition will perform their works while being observed by visitors, who will also be able to enjoy other cultural and recreational activities.

Within the framework of the Biennial, there will be an exchange between students and artists, a seminar on law, heritage and urbanism, the IV Philharmonic Youth Festival, a meeting between master artisans and creators of native peoples.

There will also be courses and workshops, individual and collective exhibitions, and the Crafts and Design Fair.

In October 2006, the city of Resistencia was declared National Capital of Sculptures by the National Congress for the value of the works located in its streets and squares and for the important interconnection between art and urban landscape.
