The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, spoke with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, on strategic association and cooperation in trade, climate, digital technology and personal ties.
Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar met earlier with von der Leyen, and the two discussed progress in the partnership between India and the European Union, All India Radio reported.
They also exchanged views on the economic and political implications of the conflict in Ukraine.
Von der Leyen said strengthening the partnership is a key priority for this decade, stressing that India and the EU will intensify cooperation in trade, technology and security.
Also, von der Leyen reported that India and the EU will set up a Trade and Technology Council.
