US weapons sent to Ukraine can turn against it

By shipping a huge amount of weapons to Ukraine, the United States is implementing a strategy that can be a boomerang, an article on the Moon of Alabama website warned on Thursday.

The publication noted that Washington and its proxies in Europe are moving arsenals to Ukrainian territory in the midst of the conflict with Russia, “but no one has any idea where these weapons will end up” and some will inevitably reach those who are now delivering them.

It recalled that the Barack Obama-Joe Biden administration (2009-2017) empowered terrorist networks in its war against Syria in its efforts to overthrow President Bashar Al Assad. The US brought a huge amount of weapons into Syria that did not go to the “moderate rebels” that Washington’s propaganda glamorized, but into the hands of jihadists, the website noted.

Barely a month after the attack on the US consulate in Benghazi, Libya, (2012), The New York Times reported that “hard-line Islamic jihadists,” including groups “with ties or affiliations to Al Qaeda,” had received “the lion’s share of the weapons sent to the Syrian opposition.”

In a repetition of that “strategy,” the US is sending a huge amount of weapons and mercenaries to Ukraine, Moon of Alabama warned.

Most worrisome in the long term is the large number of small arms shipped that “fit in the trunk of a car and can easily be smuggled across borders,” it warned.

The article emphasized that the right-wing ideology being nurtured in Ukraine will become a danger primarily for European countries, but also beyond.

Fascist groups in Ukraine are not an invention of Russian or simply “nationalist” propaganda, as already in 2018 even NATO lobbyists in the Atlantic Council called them a dangerous threat.
