Bolivian President warns against destabilization plan

President Luis Arce urged today in a tweet to the Bolivian Workers Confederation (COB in Spanish) to be ready to respond to the destabilizing actions of the right, which is trying to divide the social movements.

The COB, which was at the forefront in the recovery of democracy in the late 1970s and early 1980s, and which was decisive in recovering democracy in 2020, must be alert to respond to any destabilization plan of the right wing, he wrote in his Twitter.

Arce recalled in another message posted on that social network that in a recent act for the 70th anniversary of the COB he called to “strengthen unity, be alert and not lower our guard against the lies and intrigues of the enemies of Bolivia.”

He reiterated these elements only seek to fragment the Bolivian social organizations and expressed confidence that, when the time comes, “our glorious COB will rise to the level of history and close ranks to prevent the fascist coup”.

A similar call to the militancy of the Movement towards Socialism-Political Instrument for the Sovereignty of the Peoples (MAS-IPSP in Spanish) was made this Monday on social networks by former president Evo Morales.
