Russia establishes inmediate priorities to develop under sanctions

Guaranteeing the proper functioning of companies is Russia’s main priority in the short term to minimize the effects of foreign sanctions, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said on Thursday.

In a speech before the State Duma (Lower House of Parliament), Mishustin explained that Russian authorities have identified in recent weeks the country’s five main immediate tasks to alleviate the impact of the punitive measures.

He mentioned as a second priority the need to expand the freedom of entrepreneurship within the country and supporting the most vulnerable groups of the population as the third one.

Mishustin reported that in the fourth place is the call to guarantee the saturation of the Russian market with goods, and in the fifth place is the implementation of measures to support key sectors for Russia’s development.

He stated that the efforts to destroy Russia from abroad and harm its citizens have collided with the systematic work done nearly around the clock to reduce the damage.

The Russian prime minister added that the Government has implemented a priority action plan, which is the result of the joint effort of the Cabinet of Ministers, the Parliament and the regions, and explained that comments from companies, public organizations, business associations and citizens were taken into account.
