Russia is suspended from UN Human Rights Council

Amid strong pressure from the United States on United Nations member countries, a resolution was approved at the General Assembly on Thursday to suspend Russia from the Human Rights Council.

The document was adopted by 93 countries in favor, 24 against and 58 abstentions, and several delegations from southern countries denounced that the text was not previously discussed with the United Nations member States.
