Ukraine announces opening of ten humanitarian corridors

The deputy prime minister and head for Reintegration of the Uncontrolled Territories of Ukraine, Irina Vereschuk, informed on Thursday that the country will open ten humanitarian corridors to evacuate civilians.

The senior Ukrainian official noted on her Telegram channel that the enabled routes will allow travel by private transport from the cities of Mariupol and Energodar to Zaporozhie.

She said that it will also be possible to travel from Berdiansk, Melitopol and Tokmak to Zaporozhie by both private means and bus.

Vereschuk explained that from the cities of Lisichans, Severodonetsk, Popasnaya, Rubezhnoye and Gorskoye in the rebel region of Lugansk (self-proclaimed People’s Republic), evacuations will be carried out to the town of Bajmut in Donetsk, also on the Donbass.

According to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, more than four million people have fled Ukraine since February 24 for neighboring countries.
