India supplies fuel to Sri Lanka to ease crisis

India supplied fuel to Sri Lanka by virtue of a 500-million-dollars credit to help the neighboring island to ease the economic crisis.

The New Delhi High Commission in Colombo tweeted that a shipment of 36,000 metric tons of petrol and 40,000 metric tons of diesel arrived in Sri Lanka on Wednesday night, All India Radio reported on Thursday.

Sri Lanka is going through a severe economic crisis resulting in food and fuel shortages, as well as frequent power outages that affect the lives of the majority of the population.
