The Energy and Petroleum Commission at the Venezuelan National Assembly is currently promoting the use of alternative energies, in order to alleviate difficulties with the electrical supply, a legislative source reported.
Legislator Angel Rodriguez, president of the parliamentary commission, highlighted the actions developed for the design of the initiative of a bill that will promote the impulse and sustainable use of renewable energy sources and will contribute to the environmental policies and the development of the nation.
In this sense, Rodriguez mentioned the recent visit of the commission’s members to the Paraguana Wind Energy Farm, in Falcon state, where they learned the conditions of the wind turbines and the solar panel manufacturing plant.
The legislator also announced that they will receive a visit of representatives from the National Electric Corporation (CORPOELEC) next week, who will report on the alternative energy development plans, the Venezuelan Parliament stated in a press release.
The legislative commission will also hold meetings with the authorities of the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (INAMEH), in order to receive details on the fundamental areas of the country in which the wind energy generation could operate.
