The Spanish government, pressed by a 9,8% increase of inflation in March, defended the “forceful measures” adopted to shore up national economy.
In this regard, Félix Bolaños, Minister of the Presidency, Relations with the Courts and Democratic Memory, declared to Telecinco channel that the consecuences of the war in Ukraine threaten the projected recovery after the pandemic in Spain.
Bolaños said that the government had already foreseen this high inflation figure when approving the anti-crisis plan with initiatives that would lower the price of electricity, of fuel at gas stations and that will limit the amounts of the rates for housing rentals.
One of the most sensitive points in a nation of high mobility with automobiles, the reduction of 20 cents on gasoline, he stressed that an advance payment system has been established with the Tax Agenda so that gas stations will not have to advance the money.
He also warned that in order to avoid bad habits by some minority sectors, inspections that would prevent the anarchic price increses will be carried out.
