The government of Bulgaria warned on the presence of explosive mines drifting in the Black sea, which were dragged from the Ukrainian port city of Odessa.
These devices´ presence risks the sea traffic in all the area, Sofia´s government said in a release, while experts consider that they are part of the defensive device set up by Kiev to avoid the landing of Russian forces.
Specialists of the Military Naval Academy in Varna, south of the capital, indicated that the explosives might reach Bulgarian territorial waters in ten days.
National security forces are applying extraordinary surveillance measures and are prepared to neutralize the devices, according to government sources.
On the other hand, commercial vessels in the area were alerted to watch the sea and inform the coastal authorities if they notice any suspicious objects in the water.
