The Venezuelan oil industry is currently ready to increase its production and raise it to two million barrels a day, despite the US blockade, Venezuelan Oil Minister Tareck El Aissami assured.
The high official pointed out that the state-owned oil firm Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) relied on the wisdom of its workers and the national scientific development to innovate valves and other parts that the company could not buy in the international market due to the unilateral coercive measures imposed by the White House.
“We are ready to expand the oil industry (…), we have the plan, we have the approved resources, we have the experience and we have the technology which is also sovereign”, the minister stated.
He also indicated that at present, all valves of the industry are being recovered, which he described as necessary parts, transversal to the whole industry for the areas of exploration, production, refining, gas and industrial services.
This, he stressed, responds to the instructions given by President Nicolas Maduro, who stated that the major goals for the economy in 2022 are to increase the production of oil and its by-products, petrochemicals and gas.
