India opens first permanent diplomatic mission in Paraguay

The Paraguayan Government has received on Monday the credentials of India’s Ambassador Yogeshwar Sangwan, the first to represent his country from a permanent diplomatic mission in Asuncion.

The ceremony took place at the Lopez Palace and was attended by Paraguayan Head of State Mario Abdo Benitez and Foreign Minister Euclides Acevedo, who expressed his pleasure at this unprecedented event.

At the end of the meeting, the president and the diplomat talked on possible cooperation in different areas, such as technology, industry, trade and even defense, taking into account India’s leadership in these fields, IP agency reported.
