The First Humanitarian Flight Will Arrive In Quito On March 4

The Ecuadorian Foreign Minister, Juan Carlos Holguín, reported that they completed the humanitarian flight that will depart from Warsaw, Poland, to Ecuador.

There are 350 compatriots, along with 70 pets, who will arrive on Friday, March 4. The route: Budapest (Hungary) – Warsaw (Poland) – Madrid (Spain) – Quito (Ecuador).

Holguín announced that 708 Ecuadorians have left Ukraine, noting that there would be more than 800 in that country. The majority in Poland, while other groups are in Hungary, Slovakia and even Germany.

The flight with the first 350 people will leave on Thursday afternoon (local time) from Budapest, where it will pick up several Ecuadorians, and then go to Warsaw, Poland.

The foreign minister asked all Ecuadorians residing in Ukraine to return to the country, specifying that some citizens decided to sign the agreement not to return to Ecuador.

He preferred not to comment further and called again for them to return to the country. Even those who have managed to leave Ukraine and are in Poland, because they only have 15 days to fix their immigration status.

Holguín also announced that there is the case of an Ecuadorian, Diego, who is in one of the most conflictive areas, for which the authorities and international organizations have recommended that he remain on the site for his safety.

On the other hand, he said that they are working together with the Secretary of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (SENESCYT) and with the Secretary of Human Rights so that the returning students can be inserted again in their activities.

“One of the mothers told me that her daughter is in the last semester of dentistry and she will arrive in Ecuador this Friday. We make sure that she validates her subjects and can graduate as a dentist, ”added the chancellor.

Holguín insisted that the papers or documents from the Ukrainian universities may take time, but he explained that they will resolve, case by case, so that they can continue their studies in the country.
