142.500 Ukrainians have been evacuated to Russia

(Prensa Latina) The Russian National Defense Control Center reported on Wednesday that more than 142,500 people have been evacuated from the areas of clashes in Ukraine to Russia.

At an emergency meeting on the humanitarian response, the head of the Center, Colonel General Mikhail Mizintsev, said that 39,661 of those evacuated are children. He explained that all these people were transported in 15,246 vehicles that crossed the Russian state border. He pointed out that more than 7,000 temporary reception centers are operating in Russia and are ready to work personally with all refugees from Ukraine.

Russia’s Defense Ministry informed on Wednesday that troops delivered 30 tons of humanitarian assistance from Russia’s Belgorod region to Ukrainian civilians, TASS news agency reported.

In particular, humanitarian aid was sent in a convoy guarded by Russian forces to the Ukrainian city of Volchansk and another town in the Kharkov region at the request of their residents.

The shipments consisted of cereals, canned food, bakery and confectionery products, as well as drinking water, and were distributed among women, children and elderly people.
